Go out and breathe. Get off the computer and romp in the sun or rain or snow. Smile gently at adversity. Dance in silence. Look lovingly on your friends.
Enjoy every moment of this life. It is so fleeting.
And it is gorgeous among this misery; the misery actually has its own beauty, even in the stark, light-sucking hallways of the hospital.
Find that sparkling fabulousness — make it, even, amid the embrace of a tree or assistance to strangers or fierce kisses — and relish it.

stupid game

ya know, it is entirely possible the person claiming to altruistically teach me chess is making up rules to suit him.
Why else would I, after three whole games, still not have mastered it.
That horse-y thing - it's called again ...?
Wondermark. Amusing. To add to the list of amusing procrastination tools. I've always been keen on recycling; using stuff in the "public domain" fits into the category of cunning recycling. Check it out.
The site remains cunning despite the author's insistence on an exclamation point "as honorific" in his last name. Yup. Malk!i.
Twee. But a wonderful distraction from the realization I wasted my teenage years having sensual, pretentious experiences NOT as member of the chess team.

dolce revolution
I can get behind a city like this one. Always knew I'd like Italy. But, I wonder, do the inhabitants suddenly drive slowly as well?
heh
Everything is amusing me today. Even dreaded puns. Probably because I am researching the most bizarre story I've ever encountered and I am bemused. (To be revealed at a later date.)
It is SO bizarro. And silly. I love it.

life
I've been too busy to consider this site - either blurbs as this one or the larger travel entries I promised. Been a mildly epiphanic time, though, full of allllll sorts of important life lessons. Like .. hmmm ... I've learnt it is not always good to be forthcoming and definitely a bad idea to be honest on blogs - dastardly things; interesting people will reveal themselves just at that crushing moment when you're convinced the world is a banal, predictable place; one should get fit for bras - breasts, seemingly, do change size; a drive home from Toronto can seem longer than the drive there (foiling the rule that the voyage home always seems shorter); when the nurse tells you to sit and wait after having tests done, it is best to sit and wait and not go running around the city doing errands; kicking a ball around is gorgeous fun, particularly with a child; and when you could use a friend, ....
well ...
oh! and cut orchids last a looooong time.
Gratuitous, silly picture below.
