Besides the obvious ...

Found this pithy little comment over at Politico.com.
"This happens to a lot of families & it's sad. But most families aren't/won't be VP of the United States. This governor has 5 kids, including a special needs infant. She will soon have a grandchild whose 17-year-old mother will need all the help she can get. Is this truly the best Republican VP McCain could have chosen?"

and
I love the new set of republican values. I was a republican since 1960 and will never vote for another republican again. CHOICE is very important to me and I would hate to see women have to revert to back-alley abortionists with a coat hanger should Palin be elected. The pregnancy of her 17-year old daughter only points out the pitfalls of an inattentive, disengaged mother and an uneducated father who would rather snomobile than finish his college education. This young woman should be looking forward to going to college and now she will be taking care of not only her own baby but that of her mother. Getting married after the pregnancy does not redeem her. This is two families of low moral values who are a match made in heaven. McCain is a serial ADULTERER who left his first crippled wife for a RICH new model. I now know why McCain wants to scale back the convention or cancel it altogether. He is being hit with one story after another with his new sidekick. Perhaps he should have sent his crew to vet her before now. Word has it that he has a team up in Wasilla checking her out now in 8 rented rooms in a hotel.   Posted By: linda in nm | September 01, 2008 at 01:49 PM

Though, I laughed loudest at this terse comment: "Palin/Spears '08. "
