Fab   says this is an alarm clock, but does not provide very pertinent information about the product.  The manufacturer Crosley Radio provides spec details, FAQs and even a   manual for each item but nowhere mentions an alarm.


Does it have an alarm, people.

But they forgot about the library. My faves are still those at Cambridge (sorry Sorbonne, Oxford).

And my fave Ottawa booksore remains Perfect Books, where the staff have pithy recommendations across genres and they always have Proust on the shelves.

Ottawa, trying to pretend it is not a village, has entered the "big city" cute cupcake wars with little boutique shops opening up hither and thither. (Not to mention the many home-based ones delivering cakes all over town.)

Not wanting to malign anyone specifically, I must say I have yet to eat a good cupcake at one of those shops. They call me at home. They call my cell. They call me at the office — including our news tips line, which is a feat in itself.

I have registered my numerous phone numbers at the CRTC's Do Not Call List — link provided, but I must seriously undermine their claims it's "working/"

Possibly the worst haircut I have ever had.

This is saying something, as I begged and begged my mother to let me perm my very short hair when I was 12; I ended up looking like Hiroshima. But I loved it.

Starting Monday (that's Nov. 21, 2011) the Bank of Canada will be issuing the first of its new polymer "paper" money — the $100 bill.

According to their website, this money is harder to counterfeit, last 2.5 times longer than regular bills and features snazzy transparent "windows."
And even though the new bills will feel different from paper notes, "they are just as easy to use."

Am at that dangerous point in ankle recovery when ankle can withstand being without the air boot, but not for an entire day, and my psyche wants nothing more than to run barefoot through the city.

Am quite tired of being 1/16th storm trooper, despite the whimsical moment spent tracing my 'genealogy' for disbelieving, but amused, friends.
